April 02, 2007

Holy Crap it's late and I am so tired that I think I am beyond sleep. I have Bronchitis and have been on the couch sick as a dog for days now and just as I started feeling better it was time to start getting up and running all over town. Laura gets off the bus at 4pm today and it was time to go. I think I actually heard a starter gun go off. We jump in the car and run to town, hit the shoe store looking for her soccer cleats. Of course they don't carry them, so off we go to the Sports Store, with me groaning the whole way... you see, as soon as we walk in the sports store, I get sticker shock. So, I was not looking forward to this trip. I was actually surprised that after much drama, we found a pair of cleats for under $30. On Sale of course, but still. Then we had to run to Wally World because the shin guards I got her the other day didn't fit right, so we got a different pair.. then she needed socks and a mouth guard. We get her all outfitted out and with my wallet already Crying the "cry me a river" song, we head off to go check out two new stores we found to look for her Ball Gown. There has been more drama and headaches looking for this stupid gown than you can imagine and at this point I would rather pull out my own fingernails with plyers than go to one more store looking.
"This is gorgeous Laura!"
"Ew"
"OK.... what about this one?"
"Yuck"
*sigh* "This is pretty, what do you think?"
*Eyeroll* "I like this one!"
"That is pretty! Holy Shit, thats $900!!!! MOVE ON!"
"Moooooom, shhhhh"
"You shh That's too damned much for a dress for a ball in the 8th grade!"
"I know, I just said it was pretty!" *Eyeroll, much sighing*
"Sure, and if I said wrap it up we'll take it, you'd argue I suppose?"
Eyeroll
"OK, let's go, there's nothing here you will wear"
"Hang on... lets look over here."
"Those are wedding gowns... lets go"
*sigh* "Fine"
This is pretty much the routine at ALL the stores we have went to. I'm so tired of this crap already and just think I have to do this again Senior year. I feel a headache coming on already!!
We left the last shop and head to her soccer game. It was supposed to start at 7pm and didn't start until closer to 8pm. Then here comes Laura running over to me right before they start and spouts off something about they are playing two games. I wanted to go to the car and huddle up and go to sleep, but I sat there. Even after last year.. I STILL forgot to take my Soccer Mom Chair and my jacket. I did the same thing last year and froze to death while sitting on the ground. Did I learn my lesson? Hells no. We finally got home at 11pm and I am a popcycle and my ass hurts... But.... We kicked ASS!!!! They won both games and my baby girl was out there running her butt off, hitting that ball with her head... kicking, running the ball and she even scored a tie breaking goal kick! I am sooo proud of her! She has practice tomorrow and the next day, which means I have to trek across Buckhorn Mountain both nights... but it's worth it. Then she has another game on Thursday, against the same team they played tonight due to another team not showing up. I'm sure that one will be a war. LOL.
I need to remember to take the camera out of my purse and take some freaking pictures!!
