I am keeping a photo log of the pictures of the fire, the aftermath and the rebuild process. They can be viewed here: http://flickr.com/photos/carolhoward/sets/72157594234106444/
I am going to do a photo/comment entry cause I am just so freaking tired that I want to crash on the couch and not move for a week... but I promised myself that I would not start pussing out on entries cause I am tired.

I swear if that cat keeps looking at me I'm gonna kick her ass! Or, maybe I will just run back under the house.

This is the Hog Trough, I asked the 'city girl' question today of why in the hell do they call it a hog trough and was informed it was because it looks like a hog trough. Beck looked at me and says "haven't you ever seen a hog trough before?"
Ummm just where in the hell in downtown Junction City Kansas do you think I ran into a hog trough growing up? Dee Dee Deee!!!
There is another board nailed to that one that looks like it is on its side, so it is like an L thing. I suppose that is what a hog trough looks like. Go figure. I call it a damned support beam. But then again I call a hanger a hanger and not a freaking RACK!!

Picture of the bolts I was talking about yesterday.

The long ass Support beam that runs the length of the house. That is two boards that made me glad that I don't have any Ovaries or a Uterus to drop while carrying and lifting them, three sheets of plywood nailed to them and then all of it nailed together. This gives a whole new meaning to pain while you are on the ten thousandth nail and trying to think of a hundred excuses why you can't hammer nails anymore.

We drove to Paintsville today on a lead that the Lowe's there had had about 23 windows returned and had them on clearance. We scored big on this one! 13 windows and saved at least forty bucks per window. Mom was totally thrilled. She has all of her windows and got a killer deal.

This sheeting stuff fits over the bolts and blocks air from coming up through the holes in the blocks of the foundation.

I had to get proof that my teenagers can indeed work together doing hard work without killing each other.
