Wax on, Wax off Carolson... Just got done waxing the floors in my Mother in laws house and then for good measure, I came home and did mine. There is nothing more satisfying than waxing hard wood floors. I love the way they look after they are done. The work getting there kind of sucks.. sweeping two or three times, mopping it twice for good measure.. then finally the waxing. The drying time really bites... but, after all that... shiny floors that look brand new. That is. Until. The. Kids. Wake. Up. And. Ruin. The. Dream! LOL I swear I think they fall asleep in muddy shoes, and walk around grinning while they deposit dirt, mud, grime and grit on my purty floors! I should take all the shoes and throw them in the Creek. But then they would just walk around with wet squishy shoes and I would have ruined, warped floors. There is suposed to be a no shoe policy... yeah right. I have to sleep sometime, and go run errands.... etc. They still catch me looking the other way. Sigh.

Laura played her second Soccer Match today. They are working towards Regionals so the schedule is hectic. I kind of feel sorry for her. She loves soccer and wants to keep up with it, but they are doing the Kats testing this week and with that, then soccer practice after school and two big games each week, she is falling into bed. I feel so bad for her that I am doing her chores for her. LOL I know. Big Softy! Well, tonight the best two players they have on the team didn't show up and they went up against an all boy team, ours is coed. We had three boys show up tonight and the girls held their own, but got their butts handed to them. Last week, they won, this week... not so great with the luck. There seemed to be an issue with our players tonight using their faces to block the ball, instead of the top of the head. Three different players were thwacked in the face. Of course, you guessed it, Laura was one. I am sitting on the sidelines watching the game, Laura is on Defense and there is a boy that she easily could hop over if she wanted, he was a tiny thing... but with Lord of the Dance feet. He kicks the ball... It sails gracefully through the air, in a bee line for my daughters face... Slow motion kicks in and I can see it is going to turn out badly. My poor baby doesn't even try to duck, I think she just froze. The ball glides through the air at warp nine speed and THWACKS right into her face... She literally, I mean Literally... is thrown off her feet, body slung back a foot and lands flat on her back. I jet towards her, my heart in my throat, sure that her pretty little nose is broke. Visions of a blood spurting nose go shooting through my head, then a vision of a huge black eyes, then visions of teeth laying on the ground, a bloody mouth, X-Rays of a concusioned head... Then as I reach the edge of the field... She is lifted off her back by a few of her team mates and she Shakes her head... and hollers "I'm ok" and the game is back on just that quick. Me? I am still standing on the edge of the grass... my heart in my throat and cursing myself for letting her play any sport... Ever! I quickly grab ahold of myself and realize that she is going to get bumped, bruised and probably get a black eye eventually... and if I run onto the field and grab up my 13 year old child in my arms, she will never forgive me for embarrassing her. I return to my seat, watch the rest of the game and ready myself to see how badly she was hurt... AFTER the game is over. Her face was swollen on the right side, her eye a bit red and I honestly think that if she wasn't such a dark tanned skintype, the black eye would have been bad. As it is, there is minimal bruising taking effect and my heart is back in place. I have to do this again on Thursday? God help me!!!! Oh, and can ya'll believe that I AM A SOCCER MOM? Holy cow... what's happened in this world lately! *note-- Soccer games are hell on Allergies!*
