Mom’s house: We have the roof done, the wiring is being done this week and the windows are all cut out and being put in tomorrow. It looks like a house! The Sears guy came out today and we got the Heat pump stuff squared away. So, progress, but slower than at first.
I found a new faucet and it didn’t cost a nut. I found it at Lowes for just $80. And that was a bargain. Gas is still high and Laura is still not doing soccer, but on the upside… she only had to cut the hillside with a weed eater and not scissors.
For the last four or five days I have been getting up early and starting work outside and not coming in until dark (which is around nine here). We have the family reunion coming this weekend and in order not to prolong the cliche about redneck trash, I have been determined to clean up and revamp our yard so that it is perfect for the nine million relatives from out of town that will be driving past my house. I cleaned all the weeds out, dug the broken down truck out of the yard, carried off the bazillion tires and made sure the RV was covered with tree branches. No, seriously…. I didn’t have a truck, tires or an RV. Well, there were a few tires, but they were under my house and left by the previous owner. We only found them because we ripped my porch apart and fixed it. It was rotted through. I am still trying to figure out how the stupid thing didn’t give way and kill someone over the last year. We tore the porch apart, re-braced it, fixed a bunch of the boards, tore off the old nasty railing and stained it. I replaced the columns on the front and put up new lattice, painted it, redid the flower garden, fixed the rock garden, pulled weeks, weeded the veggie garden, buried the water pipes, put up a tire swing for Joe, Installed a fountain with a garden, concreted in bird feeder hangers for the hummingbirds, replanted a bunch of plants and carried off about five truckloads of shit and old porch.
That list just made me want to take a freaking nap. In the midst of all of this, I got sick. There was mucus in places that I didn’t know existed and I was coughing like a 90 year old who had smoked twelve packs of cigs for life. I feel better now thank god. Sleeping is not easy to do while you are strangling on your own mucus I tell you. Now, I just have to clean the damned house. Blech, hot flash!
American Idol… I have a hate relationship with that fucking show. I have DVR’d every episode, faithfully fast forwarded through all of the crap to watch a few of the singers and then tonight.. the two hour finale comes. These Asshats spend so much time on Crap that they go over the allotted two hours.. TWO HOURS and the DVR cuts off. Cuts off! So, I did not see the winner I had to go on the Internet and Google to find out the winner. So, American Idol… BITE ME YOU JACKASS!
I am looking forward to The Closer coming back on. I love that show and love that I have DVR so that I wont miss it. Unless they decide to do some two hour live bullshit and run over on time.
I have a pregnant cat again. She was (or I thought) pregnant before but either miscarried or she just got gassy and I thought she was pregnant. We have already found homes for whatever she spits out and then as soon as she is able.. off to the vet she goes to get clipped. I am going to wind up with a bazillion cats since I will never be able to drop them off at the cat shelter. Just call me Crazy Cat Lady.
Picture updates.. with captions of course!

This is the house from the last pic I took. The roof is all finished now. I will have to get a new picture on here tomorrow. I didn't realize I didn't have any new ones.

Laura and her date for Prom, JR... God this picture makes me feel proud, and old! Oh, and broke.. that dress cost a fortune! But it was worth it. Please don't tell her I said that!

Laura and JR, the love of her life... at their 8th grade graduation.

Joseph on his class trip to Newport Aquarium. Don't you just love that him and the fish have the same hair style?

Joe feeding the birds at the aquarium. Those birds freaked me out! Damned beady eyed things... staring at me like they wanted to peck my eyeballs out of my head. Eeek!
